TECHNI-SILENCE'S high quality panels are manufactured with optimum listening pleasure in mind.

Wide availability :

Panels are available in a wide range of patterns and colors for beauty as well as functionality.

EDGES

TECHNI-SILENCE panels can be manufactured with various corners and edges, such as squared, beveled and radius. These types of panels can be finished with square or rounded corners.

If special edges are required please contact the plant with specific details.

DIMENSIONS

TECHNI-SILENCE panels are custom made to meet various specifications. The use of certain sizes, raw materials, and hardware can affect the cost of the panel.

Before deciding on the panel size, the specifier should consider certain determining factors such as shipping, installation, and of course, the width of the fabric.

Custom Sizes

TECHNI-SILENCE will be happy to prepare quotations for panels of all reasonable shapes and sizes. Our technical staff will be pleased to work with the specifier in order to find solutions that are esthetically attractive, economical, and practical for your project.

MOUNTING METHODS

Mechanical Clips
  1. When there is a reasonable quantity of panels of the same size, TECHNI-SILENCE will supply a cardboard template to assist the installer in lining up the panels.
  2. When panels are of various sizes the installer must take the exact location of the clip in the back of the panel and transpose the same measurements to the wall.
  3. TECHNI-SILENCE recommends the installer use a “dab” of construction glue on the back of the panel. This will keep the panel in place in the event that the panel is hit in an upward position. The small “dab” of glue will still allow the removal of the panel if need be or, the installer can drive a finishing nail right at the top of the panel. This will not be apparent and will also keep the panel in place.
Velcro
  1. The installer will apply adhesive to back of panel. The adhesive can be applied with a caulking gun.
  2. The Adhesive should be applied in a zig zag fashion along the perimeter of the panel so that there is glue on both the wrap around part of the fabric and the fiber glass. A few “dabs” should also be applied all over the back of the panel.
  3. The installer can either install two small L brackets at the bottom of the panel or drive a few finishing nails half way through the panel (a second nail should be used to drive in the first.) By scratching the fabric with the tip of a nail, all traces of the nail will disappear. These two methods will help support the panel until the adhesive dries. Make sure nails are clean.
Lateral Fastening
On request we can supply panels with lateral mechanical clips protruding from each side of the panel. The first of a series of panels is installed with a set of clips along the closed end. The free end of the panel is then screwed to the wall with the protruding clips. The next panel is installed by sliding the clips under the already fastened panel and screwing the other side to the wall. The last panel is then slipped into place vertically.
Z-Bars
On request the panels can be installed using a Z clip that will slip into a continuous Z bar on the wall. The Z clip & continuous Z bar shall be made of 20 calibre galvanized steel. The Z clips shall be mounted chemically in the back of the panels.

TYPICAL INSTALLATIONS

Butt Joints

All TECHNI-SILENCE panels can be installed in butt joint style to give a full wall effect with minimum apparent joints. This frequently used method allows for maximum acoustical properties and adds to the look due to the use of larger panels

Visual Reveals

Interesting designs and decors can be obtained by leaving spaces between the panels. The shape and spacing of the panels are often strategically planned to improve the overall look.

Odd Shapes and Sizes

Special lay-outs of the panels, with various shapes and edges allow for a modern look. The specifier can often create unique visual effects and at the same time, maximize the acoustical properties.

MATERIALS

TECHNI-SILENCE panels are manufactured from 7 lb. per cubic foot fiberglass. It is noted for its excellent acoustical properties, its dimensional stability, and its extensive resistance to fire.

The panels are very light and, because of the chemically hardened edges, the panels do not become deformed and can be easily handled and moved.

All TECHNI-SILENCE hardware is fastened to the panel with chemical hardeners.

Fabric

TECHNI-SILENCE panels can be covered with most natural and synthetic fabric fibers.

TECHNI-SILENCE reserves the right to determine if the selected fabric / vinyl is appropriate.
